Hens & Chicks are a classic plant for growing in hot, sunny areas that receive little to no water. They are the ultimate "thrives on neglect" garden plant. They can be grown in nearly any medium, including on rocks with small cracks/dimples they can attach roots to.

These plants have a tight spreading habit where the mother plant (Hen) sends offshoots (Chicks). 

You can expect a unique flower spike in late summer which most often bares yellow flowers. While this splash of colour is pleasant, these plants are not typically grown for their blooms.
