The Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula) is a stunning songbird native to North America, celebrated for its vibrant plumage and melodious calls. These graceful birds are a delightful addition to any backyard, bringing beauty and charm to the landscape. With its bright orange and black plumage, the male Baltimore Oriole is a striking sight against the green foliage. Females exhibit more subdued colors with yellow-orange underparts and grayish-brown wings. Both genders feature sharp bills and sleek profiles that make them easy to identify.

‍Baltimore Orioles are renowned for their sweet, flute-like songs, which echo through the treetops during the breeding season. Their musical tunes, consisting of clear whistles and trills, add a serene ambiance to any outdoor setting, making them a favorite among bird enthusiasts.

‍Baltimore Orioles are migratory birds, spending their summers breeding in North America before migrating to Central and South America for the winter months. Providing a welcoming habitat with ample food and shelter can attract these beautiful birds to your backyard during their migration.

Feeding Preferences - Baltimore Orioles have a diverse diet, consisting mainly of insects, nectar, fruits, and jelly. They are frequent visitors to backyard feeders, particularly those stocked with orange halves, grape jelly, and sugar water. Offering a variety of food options will entice these elegant birds to your backyard.
