Add to daily drinking water at the dosage listed below. Whenever possible, use a sanitary water bottle instead of an open water dish, which can be easily contaminated with debris. For parakeets, cockatiels, budgies & small hookbill birds: 2 drops per each ounce of drinking water.
For canaries, finches and waxbills and similar birds: 1 drop per ounce of drinking water.
Instructions for Food
Birds fed high-moisture foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables may consume a minimal amount of their drinking water, in which case the vitamins may be applied directly to their food. Randomly scatter 2 drops of Vita-Drops directly onto the surface of the food daily. Add the Vita-Drops into the amount of seed consumed daily and mix, then layer the fortified seed on top of the bird's feed dish. Check to be sure that the vitaminized seed has been consumed within 24 hours. If the bird refuses to eat the fortified food, feed the usual plain diet for 3 days and try again. Birds are creatures of habit, and may not accept the new seed mixture immediately. It is very important that the bird not go without food by simply refusing to eat the fortified seed.
