Feeding Guidelines
Cut along the dotted line (start with #1 on the side of the package with the numbered bales) with a knife, scissor or sharp object. Gently pull on the cut hay bale until it separates. Remove the plastic packaging from the separated bale and discard. Arrange the hay in your pet’s cleaned cage. Store the remaining hay in a cool, dry place and repeat with the next numbered bale when you pet is ready for its next feeding. Always ensure that your pet has fresh, clean water. Always check with your veterinarian for your pet’s specific dietary needs.

DO I NEED TO CUT/TEAR APART THE PRE-CUT FEEDING BALE BEFORE GIVING IT TO MY PET?
Nope. Each package contains four, pre-cut feeding bales that are ready-to-feed for your pet’s enjoyment. Just cut through the package plastic as directed, remove a pre-cut feeding bale and place it in your pet’s cage. It’s that easy and less messy than loose hays!

WHAT DOES “COMPRESSED HAY” MEAN?
Compression technology allows us to reduce the size of the hay package by pressing the hay together and having less oxygen flowing within the package (less oxidation) compared to loose hays. It’s the same type of process used with the big bales you see at the feed stores. This process allows the hay to expand up to 8 times its original size when removed from packaging, so don’t be fooled by the package size. It also provides a wonderful foraging activity for your herbivore.

Our Timothy Hay and Orchard Grass are North American, from the pristine and green prairies of Western Canada. Sunburst Break-A-Bale hays are all natural, sun-cured, hand selected and harvested without the use of pesticides.
HOW LONG WILL ONE, PRE-CUT FEEDING PORTION FEED MY PET?
Every herbivore is different. On average, each pre-cut bale (portion) can last between two to three days per pet. Remember, because of its unique compressed form, your pet will forage and be entertained with Break-A-Bale, unlike loose hays.
